Clint was lucky...(spoilers)

Not only did they pass on embalming him and put him in a cheap casket, they didn't even bury him six feet under. When he broke through the coffin and reached upwards, his hand broke through the surface before he'd even pulled himself out of the casket. He couldn't have been buried more than a foot or two down. Lucky man.

I have to agree with you on that he was more than likely only buried like a foot underneath dirt to have him rise up through the casket.

Exactly.. how convenient was that? But then again, if he hadn't gotten out it'd ruin the whole movie.

and it touches on a good subject, businesses like that, are they really doing what they are suppose to be (embalming, 6 foot deep grave) or do they prefer to cut corners esp if they aren't gonna make money from it??

i thought it was a neat side touch on a sensitive issue.

You forgot to mention it was raining heavily and the dirt turned into soft mud.

There is no law in america to make graves 6 feet deep.
Graves in america are usually about 4-5 feet deep. And that depth measurement is to the bottom of the hole, not the top of the casket.
The 6 foot law was an English law during the black plague in 1665, not a modern US law.

Even if there is no law, wouldn't work rules or just plain old COMMON SENSE allow these people with years of experience to quite simply do their JOBS properly, especially by the looks of some of the men in the film who happen to be in their 30s, 40s or even 50s with years if not decades of work experience to fall back on.

Like, don't they ever worry that they may simply get told off by their boss and even lose their job, how would they feed themselves and family then?
