Outstanding!

I've seen a lot of complaints about this film on this board, and while I feel everyone's entitled to their own opinion, I am also flabbergasted!!!(yes I said that)

I just recently became a huge fan of these movies, being a huge 80's horror film/gore fan. I was lucky enough to watch all three films on a whim, in order from my netflix, having never seen them before. I thought the first one was fantastic, then after watching Bride I became a solid fan. I couldn't think of a better sequel to the first. With the way sequels are today, I strongly urge to any fan who may dislike this film to give it another perspective. Here we have extreme, as well as worthy, continuity directly from the first film. Then there's the return of Jeffery Combs and Bruce Abbott, as well as David Gale. The story I thought was strong and intriguing, steering away from the same set-up or a rehashing of the first film like a lot of sequels do. On top of all that, the gore is grade A and the film's choc full of it. But what struck me the most out of everything was this movie's finale!! Being a horror film buff, I have never, never seen the most outrageously awesome and climatic ending. The whole room *spoiler* full of Herbert's "rejects" was the craziest as well as COOLEST way to top of this sequel. I hold a lot of respect for any sequel that can make the series feel new again. Now, with Beyond Re-animator I don't think I could say the same.(Still though, not a bad film at all) Anyway, enough of my raving, does anyone else agree whole-hardheartedly?!

I think it's a great sequel as well.

I think it is a great sequel. The special effects and Kathleen Kinmont creature make up were excellent for the time and budget.

It's okay. Not as good as the first one of course but still not a bad movie.
