'Gay subtext'

Just got my Arrow blu-Ray reissue in the mail. It's a beautiful set, can't wait to watch the movie. But I'm laughing at the liner notes- people just have to jam a gay subtext into everything these days. According to the guy who wrote it, this movie is 'clearly' about queer issues, Herbert and Dan representing a my two dads scenario as they attempt to bring up life. Unreal. Leave it to the actual gay films and let this just be a horror movie.

Homophobe much?

Way to go. Totally unpredictable response. Just because I comment about certain views not applying to certain situations, you judge me, a person you'll never know. Good job.

Yeah weirdos do it with everything these days. I blame Tumblr for it.

I suspect the moron who replied to you is a Tumblrina, their buzzwords are all they can spew out when someone calls them on their agenda.

I do recall reading in something (might have been the novelization for the original film) that there was that element to Dan and Herbert's relationship. Pretty sure it was there before Bride. If it was in the novelization, it is likely it was in the original's script at some point, and its DNA would be buried in the films as they exist. Non-canon, but on topic at least.
