Why would she get arrested?

It's a decent film, but a bad ending. Ron Silver had the police convinced that he was an innocent man and that Jamie Lee Curtis had a personal vendetta against him. He used her bullets when he committed his crimes and the station believed that she was a loose cannon from the very start.
The ending seemed like a horror movie "bad end" combined with a feminist commentary on the discrimination that women police officers face. Silver's character was able to manipulate them because they were looking to find fault with her.
In reality, there'd be enough evidence and testimony to prove her innocence. In the movie, her fellow officer approaches with a gun drawn on her and she's taken away with her arms behind her back.
I wonder if he got her pregnant! Dun dun DUUUUUHHHHH!

Minor quibble. He did NOT use her rounds. She carries a .38, his weapon us a much larger .44.

Ghostdog has it. Remember when she knocked out the officer watching her in protective custody? She did that and went on the ending rampage without authorization, so saving the day or not, she would at least get put into handcuffs at the scene for detainment purposes at least.
The evidence mentioned earlier would then be enough to possibly set her free with a good lawyer. I think at that point she just cared about stopping Ron Silver at any cost.
