Influential beyond comprehension!

Great documentary!

I got this from the video shop in....it must have been 1991 and it was my main source of information for martial arts films for literally years and I bought it yet again when my old copy wore out from overuse.

To be honest it's really nothing more than one long advert for Golden Harvest films since they made it but some clips from Seasonal film studios appear too and the quality of the selection is second to none.

It's extremely hard to find a good copy of this and I've heard the DVD release has some very ropey audio which is very disappointing and the good copy that was uploaded to YouTube has since been taken down (there is another but the quality is atrocious and borderline unwatchable!)

I still have the VHS copy and a loan of a friends machine and I tried ripping it but there are dropped frames everywhere and the quality isn't great but I'll keep trying and attempt my own upload.

It's now a very out of date documentary but I think everyone who is in to martial arts films should see this at least once in their life because it was the stepping stone for myself and (unknown to me) many of my current friends too in the early 90's and is kind of the unofficial yardstick to which all martial arts films should adhere to!

I am borderline disgusted that someone hasn't taken the time to releases this fantastic piece of archive material with decent picture and sound quality but try and seek out a copy if you can and watch it to death as I did!

It's been released under The Deadliest Art.

It's exactly the same documentary that was on VHS even down to the original title.

All clips are in their original aspect ratio, and remastered.

Plus it's fully uncut, unlike the VHS version
