Is this worth watching since I liked the original?

Do you recommend this?

reply

Sure.

Either watch just the first as a stand alone movie, or watch the whole trilogy. 2 and 3 are linked in a lot more ways than the first movie is to them.

reply

Heck yeah, I'd watch this any day over 2.

reply

No

reply

No. I remember sitting down to watch it as a kid and finding it stultifying. The worst thing I can say about it is I don't remember much about it. I went to the cinema with my Dad for the first one and to this day can remember going in (slightly late), watching the film and then buzzing about it talking to my old man afterwards on the way home.

It's just the usual "we made an amazing film and now these are the cash grab inferior sequels working off the goodwill created by the first film". The actors, crew and producers got their rewards for their outstanding work of the original.

It's like if there's an amazing new tv series (e.g the Handmaid's Tale) where the first season is fucking amazing. When they have people invested they churn out any old shit afterwards.

But hey the average public is a mornic, unthinking fucking sheep who can't see what's going on.

LMAO.🤣

BY THE WAY...THE BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY IS GOOD FROM START TO FINISH AND IS CONSIDERED PERHAPS THE BEST ACTUAL TRILOGY BY MORE PEOPLE THAN ANY OTHER.

reply

Come on dude the first one is a classic and the other two are the Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions i.e great - decent - poor.

reply

A TEN AND TWO NINES...POUND FOR POUND THE GREATEST TRILOGY EVER.

reply

You always do this to me dude. Totally undermine my rant. Force me to ridicule your "TALK IN CAPS" schtick. It's like you want the conflict.

reply

YOUR RANT IS INCORRECT IN THIS CASE...RIDICULE AWAY...PLENTY OF GUYS WITH NO BALLS HAVE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS...I PREFER NO CONFLICT...BUT FIND IT WORTH THE WHILE TO DEFEND THE BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY...WHICH IS EXCELLENT.

reply

Total bollocks. Number 2 and 3 are distinctly average.

reply

BAD OPINION...NOBODY LIKES YOU NOW.

reply

Yes. Watch all three in one sitting. The third one is the weakest one, but its still good fun.

reply

I actually find the second to be the weakest.

(And by weakest, I mean it's still a great movie. But the other two are maybe a very small bit above it.)

For me, the first and the third feel like individual movies. Yes, the third one starts where the second one left off, and you have to have seen the previous two for it to make sense. But it feels like a stand-a-lone movie in itself.

The second one feels like a bridge between the first and third, where it explains the end of the first movie and sets up the third one. The alternative 1985 bit was good, the 1955 revisit was excellent. The 2015 bit was enjoyable, if not a bit silly.

To be honest, I think it's the introduction of the hover boards.

And lo and behold, I don't have a hovering skateboard, but I do have a couple that have motors. We're getting there!
