Sloppy ending


It's like they were phoning it in.
A train crashes into the DeLorean and doesn't even bother braking let alone stopping. Seriously? You just crashed into a friggin car! Where's the police? Where are the bystanders going through the debris? There's nobody there when Marty and Jennifer return. And Doc risking to crash into another train with his train. Why not fly into 1985 instead?
Ridiculous.

You’ve made some valid observations there, except for the flying DeLorean part. It was established at the beginning that the lightning bolt destroyed the flying circuits, rendering flight impossible.

I thought those same things also about the freight train not even trying to come to a stop by squealing its brakes (which would take kilometres to stop!). Then the weird lack of public and police interest in the crash site when they return. Then Doc rolls along the same active train line. He could have killed his whole family.

Since he had been to the future, maybe he was able to find some info about a mysterious crash with a silver car with pop-up doors that time of day and knew they would stop trains on the line afterwards.
