Why is Marty's "mother" in this movie

In the past, Marty met Seamus McFly. A relative on his father's side. So how is Marty's mother's side there. Her last name was Baines and George didn't meet Marty's mother's side until 1955. This should've been an entirely different-looking woman and would have nothing to do with Lorraine.

They wanted to copy the scenes from the two earlier movies. It is no deeper that that. As for an in-universe explanation, it has been said by the creators that the McFly men have a tendency to fall for a special type of women.

I never got that. But part III to me always seemed like a crappy movie. Why did the Doc need to fall in love and have (weird looking) kids?

Science was his mistress.

And then the over the top flying train? Too much.

Science was his mistress.

Even Einstein (the human) was married twice, and purportedly a horn dog to boot having had several affairs.

Yeah, the train was sort of ridiculous, even if it was a button scene. It would be very difficult for Brown to first acquire, then transport a locomotive to his shop for conversion to a time machine. It would have been much easier for Brown to build a smaller steam carriage of some sort. Also, Doc's loco is a flying machine that doesn't need track, yet he goes back to the future in his loco using the track.

Still, the whole point I guess is that Marty saw the track converted DeLorean destroyed and figured that without it, he would never see Doc again. The crossing arms coming down sets up the drama.

Einstein married young though.

And why is that significant? It is not like you have to be a teenager to fall in love.

It felt tacked on.

I think after three movies they figured the audience would like to see Doc finally find someone who could appreciate his eccentricities - someone to share his time travels with besides his dog. Marty would be graduating HS, maybe going to college, and being with Jennifer.
