"All Doc had to do was warn Marty about October 21, 2015 and everything else could have been avoided. "
Yes, the ending of 'Back to the Future (1985)' is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a movie. They never needed to go 'back to the future', because it hasn't happened yet. Doc could've fixed everything just by giving key information to key people in the present, and maybe reminding them later.
There's NO way Marty would just let his son and whole family end up as badly as depicted if he KNEW what his choices were going to create. Also, the Rolls Royce-accident couldn't have happened, if Doc had simply told what he had seen in the future. Surely Marty would've trusted Doc enough to change his ways?
Also.. Marty WASN'T like that in the first movie anyway, it's such a contrived retcon crap, I can't get over how people just lap up all this...
Also also, HOW DOES DOC KNOW that 'future is not been written', when he has ALREADY BEEN in the future (and thus should know the opposite is true)?!
Or, if Doc is right about that (and how can he know?), it shouldn't be possible to even travel to future, or the future shouldn't have been there, or it should've been constantly changing, or, or... it makes no sense no matter how you twist it around.
I always thought this, but Part II and Part III make things even more of a mess, horrible movies... in all meanings of the word. Just cash-grabs that don't even try to make any sense anymore. They just wanted a 'future' and 'timetraveling mess' and then 'western movie'. That's all. Consistency, logic? Who needs those..
