New archie movie!

I really wish they would make a archie movie when the gang are actually in highschool Riverdale and stories just like their adventures from the comic! I would love that! I usually never post on IMDB, but i am a sucker for archie comics and i read them every single day in the morning before i start my day. As long as the charcters are portrayed right, im happy. BUt they should all be the age they are in the comic book which is 16 so that its not to absurd and shifted from the legit thing.

An Archie movie where the gang is still in high school would be amazing!

Casting ideas? Here's mine: (Keep in mind that the characters are only supposed to be 16 and 17, so I went for actors of that age range)

Veronica: Hayley Chase
Betty: Hayden Panettiere
Reggie: Daniel Samonas or Beau Mirchoff
Jughead: Anthony Ghannam
Dilton: Aaron Webber

I'm stumped on who could play Archie, any ideas?

hmm...Mila Kunis would be good as Veronica because she's already played the rich bitch on That 70's Show, but her voice might be too high and annoying haha...and I think everyone would like Miss Duff to stay the hell away from our beloved Archie comics! :P

well if u want to make a cheesy teeny bopper movie, you could make lindsay lohan Veronica, betty Hilary Duff, and archie seth green.

Generally speaking I think unknown actors do a better job bringing comic book characters to life because they don't bring the baggage of other films along with them. One notable exception would be Toby McGuire but super hero stories are a whole different ball game.

a movie has been planned for awhile now that takes place in High School. The newest news is that a script is trying to be green lit at the moment for filming for 2007.

i LOVE Archie!!! i read it everyday..i have about hundreds of them.. i even sent my drawing to the betty digest..and they accepted it..so happy!!!! it'll be really cool if they make an archie movie!! i've been waiting since a long time ago...here's my cast idea..

Archie : Hayden Christensen
Betty : Hilary Duff or rachel mcaddams>>but she's too old..
Veronica : anne hathaway
Jughead: i have no clue!!! maybe jon heder he has that eyes shut thing

Mila Kunis would make a good Ronnie if she put on a semi-couthern accent.
Mandy Moore could probably do a good Betty. She still looks young, aswell.

I agree with Baby Kisses, it'd be much better to get new actors, especially at the right age to play the parts. Who wants to see 20 somethings acting like 16-17? Melissa Joan Hart was SO right for Sabrina when the series first came out because she was just the right age. By the way, did anyone like the Josie movie? I was a bit disappointed...I liked those comics, too.

I am also agree about the idea to have new actors to an Archie movie, specially because Hayden Christensen is too old to be Archie Andrews (and I think is very serious, Archie must be funny and annoying).

I think if your making them college age the cast should be:

Archie: Jesse Lee Soffer (played Will on As the World Turns)

Betty: Hayden Panettiere or Marcy Ryland or Brittany Snow

Veronica: Odette Yustman or India Eisley (Olivia's Hussey's daughter, she's on The Secret Life of the American Teenager)

Reggie: Zac Efron or Bobby Campo

Jughead: Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Jay Baruchel

Moose: Zachery Ty Bryan

Midge: Megan Park

Big Ethyl: Gillian Zinser or Vanessa Lengies (maybe make Big Ethyl nerdy as opposed to ugly)

Cheryl Blossom: Yvonne Zima or Molly C. Quinn (Castle's daughter on the TV show Castle) or Camryn Grimes

Betty: Meaghan Martin (10 Things I Hate About You tv show)
Reggie: maybe Ethan Peck (10 Things tv show)? I think he could pull it off
Veronica: Jessica Lowndes (90210)

Jughead: Jay Baruchel would be perfect for this

Will need to think more about the others.
