The professor sends him off to tell the group he found the nest in the barn, and he drives off. I don't remember seeing him again. He didn't even give the info to our heroes. They figure it out in the very next scene. What was the point of even sending the Sheriff away?
If they are going to write him out of the movie, why not kill him off...or is there a deleted scene where he was and they just cut it for time?
I'm pretty sure there was supposed to be a spider kill him in the car but either they didn't film it or it didn't make the cut. I think I saw the hosts talk about it on "dinner and a movie" when I was a kid, but maybe I am just making it up in my head.
shareThat would've been a cool deleted scene IMO, but I feel the film length was just about right so probably best they omitted it if planned. The pacing in this film is really well done and it doesn't lag at all. The tension of the barn scene and immediately moving into the arrival of Daniels/Goodman while keeping the focus on the house/barn worked really well.
I completely agree that a sheriff/car/spider scene would've disrupted the flow.
