Inaccurate title!

While I understand why they called it "Another 48 Hrs" - to tell people that it was a sequel to another movie - the title is inaccurate because in the first movie, Eddie Murphy's character is released from jail for just 48 hours, in order to help Jack Cates solve a case! In this movie Eddie Murphy is a free man and there is no impending timeline in the movie - so why the hell call it that?? The film was all right, but they should have come up with a better title!

Isn't the "Another 48 Hours" to do with Jack Cates facing jail because of being set-up by his two cop buddies?
He was again under the clock in trying to do something (ie clear his name) as quickly as possible.

It wasn't mentioned in the movie that he HAD to clear his name quickly (ie 48 hours), or in that exact amount of time, but that seems a likely explanation.

I agree that in the second movie, "Another" 48 hours wasn't clearly explained to say that they had yet another deadline to complete in a fixed amount of time, but the situation with Jack Cates is close enough to be "Another" 48 hours case.
So the title, although it may seem abit misleading at first does fit.

It may not be an accurate fit (Jack probably had morethan 48 hours to solve this time around). But I think it's passable.

They don't mention it directly. But he has an inquest into his shooting. The scene where he takes Reggie to id the ice man and it isn't the right one. I can agree its not as clearly marked as in the first.

It is 100% accurate but the scene was cut. He has 48 hrs for jack to prove his innocence.
