What an insult to the Amityville movies!

The Amityville curse is an absolute insult to the Amityville movies. I saw it the other night for the first time and I didn't find it remotely scary. I was told this movie was awful but I had to see it to believe it. No special effects whatsover. No bleeding walls or swarming flies either. I kept waiting for at least one fly attack on a priest. This movie was so awful that it was laughable. It doesn't even take place in or mention anything about the original house. Watching paint dry is more exciting than watching this!

Agreed. But what about that fat lead guy? The guy who kept chain smoking and thought he was the "boss". He really irritated me aswell - He looked like he should have been on another set...maybe to help build it, but not actually "star" in it.

Let US the true fans of the Amityville Horror do a sceance and release upon the directors the full brunt and true horror of the demons that live in that house!!! They must pay for this travesty!!!!!

I agree, Bryan. This movie was exceptionally awful and excruciatingly boring. It was so bad I gave it zero stars which is very unusual for me unless I find a film particularly offensive. I even gave "They Saved Hitler's Brain" a half star.

They managed to insult the previous Amityville installments? What an arduous task THAT must have been. Ha, ha!

Seriously though, at least it's better then 'Amityville 3-D.'

It wasn't that bad. There are A LOT worse horror movies out there. I was at least entertained the entire time. The characters were interesting and I felt there was a good atmosphere and lots of suspense. Yes, it was unrelated to the rest of the series besides it taking place in the same town, but I kind of thought that maybe it was implying that a supernatural presence took ownership of Amityville and therefore caused multiple murders and hauntings to occur there. The film is interesting if you think of it that way. It isn't the best in the series by any means but it could've been a lot worse.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
