The very end was vague! Those medics and ambulance could have been fake!

SPOILERS

I ordered this from Amazon after reading the many reviews here. I just watched this, and laughed at this whole movie because it was rediculous!!!

This guy hits on this lady in the street, she goes done from insullin shock. The "Ambulance" picks her up. This was the most fake ambulance I have ever seen! There are fake medics, a fake ambulance, the doctor guy with the mustache is fake!!

My question is, right before the ambulance crashes through the wall into the pit, was that a toy ambulance!!!!

It definately looked like as it jumped that it was not the size of the real thing!!

Was that like a toy ambulance, or a model ambulance..!! I laughed at that!!!

2nd question.........

The guy and lady get carried away in the "real" ambulance in the last scene!!!!!

I immediately thought, "is this the setup for a sequal!!"

They were chasing that false ambulance all throughout the movie!! Shouldn't they have chosen not to take that ambulance in the end...!!!

Surely they had enough ambulance chasing for one movie, but to end the movie by getting into a real ambulance did not make sense to me....!!

Who knows if those medics who loaded them in at the end were fake as well!!!!

That very well could have been a fake ambulance they were being loaded into at the end, and then they cut to credits!!!! That guy and girl could be going to that fake hospital in that real ambulance as well

Ending was definately strange and vague!!!!

This was a darn comedy!!

What are the purposes of signatures!!..

You must be very young and ignorant so I'll excuse your lack of knowledge and understanding. This film was made back in the 1980s, so the ambulance would look like that, it wasn't like the square ambulances of today.

As for the vague ending, they obviously figured that the odds of the ambulance being fake again were so high against it that it would be near impossible. It's like surfers who get bitten by sharks, it doesn't stop them from surfing. Just because of one or more bad experiences that doesn't mean that all are bad, that's highly unlikely and you can't live your life based on the least likely of scenarios, then you wouldn't be able to do anything, period. It's a perfectly plausible scenario.

To the OP: That WAS a real ambulance. It was the ambulance of yesteryear. James Earl Jones' character makes mention of this in the film even. He says "This is one hell of an old ambulance."
We see one similar to it in "Ghostbusters": its the car they drive with the whiny siren.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Josh is narrating over the scene so we know its a real ambulance or he would have continued telling us about it

No, it was definitely not a model or a toy. I don't know how anyone could come to such a conclusion. You can see Eric Roberts' stunt double in the same frame as it crashes.
