Why did Fay disappear?

Just watched this on TV and due to disturbances, trains passing by, keeping TV volume low ‘cause partner asleep next to me, no subtitles, couldn’t understand what went on in a few places. But the main bit I missed the general idea of was where Kevin Collins is being lead on by Fay Anderson, so he runs out the house to his trailer washes, albeit quickly and returns to the house to find Fay gone. What happened, why did she disappear? And afterward it seemed something important had happened. Hopefully someone can help me out here because it’s bugging me.

She ran away because the doctor had called her and told her that Collie was in a mental asylum and could be possibly very dangerous.

No doubt Doc Goldman told her Collie'd been institutionalized, but I doubt he said he could be dangerous.

Why? I´d imagine he was prepared to say just about anything as long as it resulted in Patric returning to his premises.
