We should learn

I'm canadian, and we have our troops in afghanistan. I would like our troops to learn from movies like that, so they are not bound to repeat the russian mistakes. Unfortunately I do not see any attempt whatsoever to properly explain the afghani people, culture and conflict to canadians. This movie is not even released in english or with english subtitles. Because I speak german,
I was able to get the german dubbed version from amazon.de.
We are not gonna win this war, with soldiers who have been living through a wallmart, macdonald's and Spiderman movie mentality. I believe our troops will suffer a humiliating experience. In this movie the cultural clashes create the animosity between the russian and the afghani's most compelling is the scene in the village when the russians trade russian style. There was no attempt on the russian side to even learn about afghani customs and culture. And we do the same mistakes. Our troops are mostly isolated from contact's to the afghanies, we bring our own food, our own entertainment and our arrogance, leaving us no time to learn.
