shareYes it is french it means in english "Thousand and One Nights"
shareYes, the movie's title is Spanish for "Your Grandmother Has Hairy Nipples".
Great movie, I suggest you ask your local Blockbuster for it by its English title, so they won't be confused.
How could it be foreign if it's in French?

It says so much that someone - even an American - cannot fathom the English translation of "Les 1001 Nuits". Still, most Americans have difficulty coping with English. Maybe we should ask for our language back before the damage is irreparable.
shareWell, "Les 1001 Nuits" would be "Arabian Nights", wouldn't it...
shareIsn't it nice when someone shoehorns in anti-American sentiments even when they have no idea if an American asked the question? I might say you'd feel pretty foolish if the OP wasn't an American, but I know better. You couldn't care less. It was just a nice little platform for you to spout off your bigoted remarks. Meanwhile the rest of the world has such a commodity on language skills, right?
Just how is English "your language"? Are you British? If so, it's not "your language". English is a West Germanic language that was brought to Britain by settlers. So unless you migrated from around the Rhine, it's not "your" language. I bet if the Germanic settlers heard what you're doing to their language, they'd want it back too.

When someone asks if something is French, obviously they don't speak French and therefore cannot be a Frenchman or woman. More importantly, if someone cannot comprehend the language a title is in, doesn't matter if they speak Italian, Yiddish or whatever, if they can't comprehend the language, it's "foreign" to them (or they are a moron, and in that case it's still "foreign" to them).

The story is Persian (Daastaanhaaye 1001 Shab).
The name means Story of Thousand and One Nights. The girl who tells story called Shahrzaad (Shehrazade).
