Brian pulls a George Bailey in the finale

I had not seen "Wings" since the first run in the 1990s, so watching all of them over the past few months on AntennaTV was almost like seeing it for the first time.

Last night (Jan 11) they ran "Final Approach" (finale) followed by "Legacy" (ep 1), and I was struck by the fact that while in "Legacy", Brian accuses Joe of being like George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life", it's he who makes the sacrifice to stay on Nantucket while Joe and Helen spend the year in Vienna.

I thought it was an interesting way to bookend the series.

Yes, I liked that sort of a surprise ending too with Brian finally manning up.

Great panoramic shot and fade-out of the lobby terminal also.

Very clever catch about Brian ultimately being the one makes the sacrifice so his brother can go to Vienna.
