References to sex?

Ok i know i have gone on a rant about jo been married in another topic, but does any-one else feel in neccessary to have jo refering to sex 'we could have nibbles at home' and 'lets rob a bank and make love on the floor with our masks on' not to mention she 'wore white at my wedding and i wasn't a vir..............' this is the same little girl who 3 years ago was in trouble for having a love bite whgo 5 years ago was in need of her first bra ect.

We all know that most 18-19 year old ....... you know, but isn't that best left to the immaginaton? why do they have to spell it out?

I just find it a little unsettling for some-one who we have seen grow up through our television screens!

Also a little insensative to say things like that in front of the famaily dont you think?

Yea I totally agree - I just felt they showed her growing up really quickly - you know like most teenagers would not be married off at 18 anyway and those comments in front of the family were inappropriate. She seemed a bit sex mad don't you think - nearly all the screen time she had in series 6 she made a least some gesture towards sex.

But then again I guess it did blend in well with the show too - there were so many sex references (about or between Charlie and Caroline) right from the first episode, plus Jo has a sex-mad grandmother to (in-law) that it was only natural for her to be like that. But I totally get what you are saying - when you've seen this 11 year old girl grow up you kinda don't wana see them acting and saying this kinda stuff - it's really weird!

While we're on the topic of the kids didn't you just hate the arrogance of Tom in the later seasons - especially in season 6 - I really didn't like Tom's character at in the series anyway but he changed a lot during the last couple of series and it made me hate him even more. He was such a useless character IMHO - he was always "just there" and for me it was like the writers felt they had to give him a few lines now and then but his character really had no relevance in the show unlike Jo's character and for me it was quite disappointed that he had been written in this way.

I dont think it was so bad with charlie, caroline and laura has we didnt see them grow up if you get me?

didnt really notice much of a difference in tom other than
his voice had now broke and he didnt refer to carolin as mummy (or dad as daddy either)

Having looked up 'who's the boss' which as you may or may not know was the american version which ran from 84-92 (after upper hand had started) they did the same with joanna's counter part played by alyssa milano sp? Which according to some site broke the hearts of teenage boys worldwide and ultimatly led to thier cancellation! - maybe thats what happened here?

Appart from the very ignorant tack of time -

(charlie had worked for caroline for 5 years by the wedding yet joanna was 11 when they first met and she's now 18? - the numbers just dont add up do they? 18 - 5 is 13 not 11)

this was/is my favourite show but series 6 completely ruined it for me everything was rushed, the kids grew up too quick and i just couldn't accept dan has a son in law or main character after just meeting him (he never stood a chance at being accepted by the television audience did he?)

A great shame to such a great show!

Yea who's the boss was practically identical to The Upper Hand apart from their Charlie and Caroline equivalent didn't get married, they weren't as "together" as Charlie and Caroline were and most people generally think that our actors (Diana and Joe) lacked chemistry which made Charlie and Caroline awful to watch - I don't tend to agree with this though however.

I have to say that without sounding really bitchy Alyssa was totally gorgeous and I can totally understand that however I don't think Kellie Bright really had the same effect - especially because of some of the awful clothes the poor girl had to wear (what was the costume department thinking!)Yea the timing was just too screwed up and both Jo and Tom just grew up too fast.

I think however that the shows end was mainly due to Caroline and Charlie relationship as a married couple more than anything else - it was just boring to watch these sex deprived adults at it like rabbits in every episode.

Ok im a guy, in other words im completely ignorant to fashion ect lol
give us examples what clothes did you detest so much?

I think we're all agreed though that they rushed joanna growing up, they rushed joanna getting married, having her be a sex mad newly wed was a little unsettling and the writers really messed up which quickly led to its downfall!

Lets all write letters to the producers and order them to re-do it!!!!!!!!!!
