I absoloutely love this show, it was a favourite of mine when I was very small (I was born in 1987 to give you an idea)and I'm so thrilled to get the repeats on Paramount - although I do wish they'd show them in order and series 7!!!!
Anyway, does anyone know where the house/location they use is or any other information at all? It's a gorgeous place.

I was born in 1987 too!! I love the house too - although I'm guessing that they only used the "look" of the house on the outside but never actually used the inside for filming - probably filming it in a studio at Granada instead?
sharei was born in 1981, so i remember it quite well from first time around - oooh! i feel old now! lol! i too would love to know where the house is, as it looks so amazing, and i just love the huge driveway bit at the front! :D

Didn't you just think that from the outside the house looks so big and gorgeous with that huge driveway and it really looks massive, however on the inside it's really small and not in comparison to the outside?
sharei dont think the entire building you see from the outside is actually one house - looks as though its split into 2/3 seperate homes. that would also explain how their neighbours in "neighbours" had their back garden so close?????

alo i dont think its shows all the house when filming like most of action takes place in living room and kitchen but dining room appears in a couple, i was 1985 born so i remember it well!! i love it!

INside was obv be a studio but they did film some outside location shooting.
Anyone know where it was I know it's set in Henley on Thames and as it's not too far from London it could have been filmed there but....

The house is surely just a studio set.
So 'Central Television studios' or somewhere like that.

The location used for outside filming, the inside is obvs a studio.
Henley is where Caroline is supposed to live, but ,ay not be where the house actually is.
Take Gavin and Stacey, Gavins house was meant to be Billericay in Essex but filming took place in Wales, near Barry where Stacey's family lived.
I found out that the house used for Carolines house was in a village just outsude Nottingham.

shareIt was filmed in Nottinghamshire. A girl my older sister went to school with used to live in that house. Never went, so i couldn't tell you exactly where, but i know a lot of it was filmed near Colwick.
I've tracked down the house. It is in Nottinghamshire. Got some photographs of it. What I can't figure out, is why people who know where it is, don't say where it is. It's like some big conspiracy.
shareWell unless you say where it is you're one of those people too! I'd like to know where it is just out of interest. I'm hardly likely to travel from my home in London up to Nottinghamshire just to glimpse this house.
shareI'm rewatching TUH for the first time in years and I came here myself to see if anyone knew where that absolutely gorgeous house is. I'm disappointed that those who claim to know are refusing to say...like another poster said, those of us who are interested are hardly going to go there. I am jealous of anyone who is able to live in such a beautiful property - no idea what the interior is like as obviously that was filmed in a studio but if the stunning exterior is anything to go by it's a lovely place to live in.

shareThanks, tgrrrsss. :) I'm wondering what the house looks like today. Whoever owns it now could have had a lot of work done to it and it might look completely different, which would be a shame. I hope it still looks close enough to how it looked in the exterior shots during TUH as it really was a stunning looking property.
shareYes it certainly did, were it actually in Henley it would probably be worth at least 2.5 million nowadays.
Not sure where Colwick is in Nottinghamshire and what prices are like, but I dare say it's worth quite a decent sum.
