creepy or pertinent to the story? not that i blame him, shes gorgeous and i wanted to kiss her too. but i was 7years old then..

I guess that's the perk of being the boss! He explained that he kinda crow barred that into the episode just so he could kiss her. She was aware of this so it's no big deal. Here is a youtube video where it is talked about (around 14 minute mark)...

It was so unrealistic it took me out of the episode. As if she'd kiss creepy old Lynch when she was with a stud like Bobby. Maybe that's the point, it's fantasy - but it just seemed like a director using his power to get to kiss a 9/10 goddess like Madchen (was) vs actually being cute.

(Not that I blame him!)

Well personally I think that's a bit overblown. It wasn't much of a kiss. The scene moved the story forward in that it propelled Bobby into taking his relationship more seriously with Shelly.

Notice in S3 Cole still has a fixation on younger woman. It's a character statement about Cole, not Lynch.

I think it adds to Cole being sort of a creep. Notice how he stares at Agent Preston in Season 3 and some of the comments he makes.
