sharePlenty of stupid stuff happened before episode nine of season two (Catherine disguised as a Japanese businessman is definitely one of them). Fortunately, the asininity during this stretch is so much more tolerable because the audience knows the good stuff is just around the corner ( the good stuff being the Laura Palmer investigation, which was the one aspect of the show always handled brilliantly). Post-episode nine, with Laura Palmer's murderer laid to rest, the nonsense takes center stage. That is why you skip everything post-episode nine excluding the finale (and the finale you can honestly skip until the last twenty minutes). I've watched the episodes sandwiched between episode nine and the finale once .... and that was enough.
shareI agree. Windom Earle was a terrible villain, and Annie Blackburn was a horrible love interest character. The less said about the storylines of the likes of Hurley and Audrey, the better.
