When I was watching Plunder & Lightning the other day it got me thinking....
Could the Baloo we see in the Jungle Book be the same Baloo we see in Tale Spin? How would you bridge the gap? How do you think Baloo came to develope his passion for flying, and Louie to open his dive, and more important, how did Shere Khan become the tycoon he is "today"?

The character designs were similar, but they weren't the "same" characters (at least in the way that Ballo from Jungle Book and Talespin were the same character).
To answer the original question, no, Jungle Book and Talespin couldn't exist in the same universe. In Jungle Book, humans exist and live in their own cities and everything while animals live in the wild. In Talespin, humans don't seem to exist and animals have their own civilizations.
