Kramer owes a lot to Mr. Bentley from The Jeffersons

He shows up at the Jefferson for odd reasons.

He is an odd fellow.

He gets a lot of ladies to be that odd and unattractive.

I wonder if Larry David would ever admit the influence.

Yes, I know Larry says Kramer is based on Kenny Kramer, but these characteristics are all Bentley. Plus Larry is the age where he would have seen TJ

It’s interesting that you make the connection. When Paul Benedict (the actor who played Bentley on the Jeffersons) died in 2008, the Web site tvland.com remembered the character this way: “Before Seinfeld had Kramer, George Jefferson had Harry Bentley; the affable Englishman who lived next-door to the Jeffersons.” Apparently you have some company from TV sitcom experts on your observation. I think Benedict has a guest appearance in a Seinfeld episode but I can’t remember which one or the character he played

I had forgotten PB was on Seinfeld once. Thanks https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0697670/?ref_=tt_ch

He was the guy from the New Yorker where Elaine tried to get him to explain the cartoon that didn't make sense
