Not funny without laugh track

That’s because sitcoms and their comedic timing were formatted and shot in front of a live studio audience. That’s like saying stand up comedians aren’t funny if they’re performing to no one.

Agreed. I never understood the huge popularity of this show.

It’s not a laugh track dumbass, it’s a live audience.

it's definitely more tense than usual.. but still funny.

i watched the season 8 episode called the fatigues and found myself laughing before the laugh track even started. the clip embedded, i don't think represents the entire series.

This doesn't mean anything. The pacing, the timing, the pauses, the lack of ambient noise and music are all designed to accommodate the laugh track, which makes it feel slow and awkward when it's omitted. If they had done it without the laugh track, they would have adjusted everything else accordingly.
