Is the ovaltine bit.....

Really that much worse the Jerry’s pre-show routines?

reply

Worse material, with worse timing and delivery.

reply

Although we never got to see Bannia deliver the bit himself, it is safe to assume that it would be far better.

reply

I take it "Le-MOAN-a" and "LOY-ya" didn't do it for you?

reply

It's been a while since I watched it, but are you talking about the rival comedian of his who he finds annoying and who ends up becoming a dentist just for the jokes?

reply

The dentist becomes Jewish for the jokes! Jerry tells this to a priest and the priest asks him if he is offended as a Jew. Jerry says that he is offended as a comedian!

But that's not Bania. He was the guy who gave Jerry a expensive suit and only wanted Jerry to buy him dinner to repay him. But every time they went out, he'd order soup or something small saying that he was "saving the meal for later."

reply

Guess I don't remember him then.

reply

Bania is the annoying comic but Tim Whatley aka Bryan Cranston is the Dentist

reply

That’s gold, Jerry. Gold!

reply

Never cared much for any of those comedy routines of Jerry’s which bookended many of the early episodes.

reply

Did Bania show up again in the episode when George is taping books for the blind? Why am I thinking of that?

reply

The Ovaltine episode is the one where Jerry's girlfriend has a mentor and so Jerry decides to become a mentor to Bania.

reply

Bania was in like 3 or 4 episodes though? I think...
