Were you already familiar with Seinfeld?

or do you only know him from the sitcom?

I already knew of him and already thought he was funny so I checked out the new Seinfeld show excitedly back then. I was in my teens and I believe the A&E Channel aired a comedy show regularly (Night at the Improv or something like that) and I used to see various comedians. I remember seeing Brad Garrett before he was on Everybody Loves Raymond.

I digress, I already knew of Seinfeld and he was already one of my favorite comedians.

I saw Ray Romano as a standup comedian on Late Night with David Letterman before "Everybody Loves Raymond" existed.

As for Jerry Seinfeld, I don't remember ever seeing him before I saw the Seinfeld sitcom. I remember seeing Jay Leno a lot in the '80s though, long before he became the host of The Tonight Show. I remember his standup acts and his Doritos TV commercials.
