what guy would you pick?

So you're in Avonlea, walking down the street to the post office, waving hello to Mrs. Potts and then WHAM! Your heartthrob walks by and smiles to you. Who is he?

Gus?
Felix?
Alec?
Mr.Pettibone?
Jasper?
Arthur?

Or someone else....and why.

It's on tape but it's soooooo hard to find. I think you can find DVDs on the net. I have all the tapes...I had to go to P.E.I. to get some of them, but you really have to look for them.

I thought Alec was a perfect husband...just perfect! But I also thought Jasper was so sweet.

But I would pick GUS! I LOVED him! He had so much integrity.

You can buy the VHS and DVD's from Sullivan Entertainment. They have all the way to the 5th season. I just ordered the 5th season dvds in advance. Can't wait! Hope this helped you.

Gus Pike is my favorite and always will be.

He has heart, soul and integrity... a little rough around the edges, a "Diamond in the rough" but the type of boy all families wish their daughters would bring home as a future husband.

reply

Gus, definately gus. He was so cute and so into Felicity it was impossible not to love him.

Gus Pike. I love the fact that he is kind of rough around the edges. I think it added to his charm.

I'm a gay guy so maybe my taste is somewhat different...but I thought Felix was very attractive in the late couple of seasons (we're about the same age so maybe that had something to do with it).

Gus was sweet but I couldn't handle the smell of someone who worked at a Cannery (I'm kidding, folks!).

reply

When I was younger it would have been Gus, no question. But now as I rewatch (some on my DVDs from Sullivan boutique http://www.sullivanboutique.com/, some from my own taped videos) I would actually have to say Alec! He is a hard worker, loyal, romantic, and a wise father. Even if sometimes he goes over the edge, he always apologizes and makes things right.

Although lately I have fallen for Arthur...mysterious, handsome, intelligent, imaginative, serious, and determined. Perhaps a tad too serious...but everyone can learn to lighten up. :)

But they're all imaginary!

I loved Alec too....I've always said he was the perfect husband/father.

I would pick gus... but felix wasnt that bad either when he was older of course....i used to watch this show when i was little or... younger but yeah it still comes on monday on bravo and it is 1:00pm and 7:30pm Novia Scotia time

reply

Definitely Gus...he's a hottie. I've had the biggest crush on him since I've been 10! Felix was not a looker at the young age, but when he grew up, he got pretty cute. Alec's okay. Mr. Pettibone is just...no. Jasper...no. Arthur...his lips are too big, or something.

GUS. He was so sweet and charming. And I just love that accent.

Of course, I too was in love with Gus for much of my childhood (I still am). But so many of the other characters were great too.
Gus: So honest and genuine. So cute! He wants a family so much...
Alec: Hard working, with strong morals. Romantic. And he can sing
Felix: Ambitious (somewhat) very funny. Grew up to be quite a hottie.
Jasper: I always thought he was so cute! Go back and watch the episodes and you might agree. He was just so pathetic and sweet.
Arthur: HATED HIM! Looks like a girl, plus he always thought he was so much better than Gus. I guess when i was 7 years old I hated anyone who came between Gus and Felicity. I guess I hated Stuart for the same reason.

Who are Arthur and Stuart?

wse've got the first three seasons, so I don't think I've met them yet. I would totally pick Andrew. He hardly appears at all, and hasn't come up at all in the third season, but he's SO Cute and I have the huggest crush on him.

Why did Joel Blake (Andrew) not continue? I post that question as a thread but no one answered it.

After Andrew would be Gus. He is the type that would lay his jakcet down in a mud puddle for you to get across without giving it a second thought.

reply

Arthur = Arthur Pettibone, who had a crush on Felicity; Stuart = Stuart McRae (or, as he's known in some Avonlea circles, Stupid McBarf), who was (briefly) engaged to Felicity when Gus was presumed dead.

Why did Joel Blake (Andrew) not continue? I post that question as a thread but no one answered it.

He wanted to concentrate more on his schooling and real life. He hasn't acted since RTA.

I really didn't like Arthur at all! I too thought he looked like a girl and was overly romantic and whiney...or something. I thought Jasper was a doll though - I liked almost every leading male on that show except for Arthur...his father was even better than him!I haven't seen Stuart yet...only just starting the 5th season...

The quote underneath...was said by LM Montgomery!!

Okay okay. I know I said before that I didn't like Arthur or Stuart (or Stupid McBarf) but then I went back and watched som of the later seasons. I decided that its not that I don't like them, but its just that I dont like them when they are trying to win Felicity. I can't help but dislike anyone who gets between her and Gus, but when I watched some of the episodes after she chooses Gus and not Arthur, I realize hes not so bad after all. Like in the episode when Sarah wants to go away to school but cant tell Hetty or Nanny Louisa, Arthur is really good in that one. As for Stuart, I hated him just as much as the next person, but he really is a very nice guy. He just isn't Gus.
