Jasper Dale is the new Matthew Cuthbert!

The actor who played Jasper Dale has been cast in the new Netflix adaptation of Anne of Green Gables to play Matthew Cuthbert. Can't wait for this.

Hasn't a film version of Anne of Green Gables just been made? They're making another one so soon?

The actor playing Matthew is interesting because it makes me think that Jasper and Matthew are a bit similar: shy, kind of awkward, kindhearted. It's too bad that Matthew couldn't have found a wife like Jasper did but at least he found a daughter in Anne.

You may know already, but Martin Sheen played Matthew Cuthbert. I agree that it would have been sweet for R.H. Thomson to have done it, but, as always, Martin Sheen was excellent.

I assume that the OP is talking about a different film version. As I stated above, I'm surprised that a new one is being made so soon but that happens sometimes.

And btw, Martin Sheen was horrible as Matthew. Played him completely out of character.
