Looking for an episode

I love this series, but there seems to be one episode that I remember, but cannot seem to find.

All I can remember is that Victor had a rather fat guy come to visit, who fell asleep in one of their chairs, and they just couldn't seem to get rid of him.

Does anybody know the episode I am talking about?

Thanks,

Andrew.

The episode in question was Season 6 Episode 4, one of the very last episodes of the entire series, first broadcast in November 2000.

Mr Smedley, who was played by Roy Hudd, appeared only well into the episode though. It was in the downstairs toilet that he (according to Margaret) later appeared to have fallen asleep in. On the sofa he was either talking or reading out loud from his book.

Almost the entire episode is set in the Meldrews' living room and is lit up only by candles.

Hi Dale,

Apologies but I don't think that's the right episode.

I can remember the fat guy being asleep in the lounge room chair having a beard, and Victor describing his as "Mister Bloody Creosote" (From Monty Python and the meaning of life).

That's why it was so funny.

Thanks

Andrew.

Hi Andrew.
I am unfamiliar with Monty Python but quite familiar with One Foot in the Grave.
I have checked the script for the episode I mentioned (Threatening Weather), and I see that there is a line (Victor) saying "I suppose we'll be up with him all night, potty-training Mr. Creosote! That's all we needed!".
Other than this episode I can't think of any other episode that contains anything like what you have described.
