What was BAFTA thinking?!

They must have been out of their minds to give this Best Drama Serial over The Singing Detective! I am so astonished as The Singing Detective is not only a million times better than The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, but it is the very best drama serial I have ever seen.

I hate people who pretend they're superior; it makes it much harder for those of us who really are.

Sorry, but I was privileged to see both and while I might agree that the choice must have been difficult, I believe BAFTA di make the right decision. My best evidence - I did not get to see the original Singing Detective originally but was finally able to purchase it on DVD about two years ago (and I stress, I am not talking of the much more recent fil, but about the original, British mini-series) and even now, I remember much more of She-Devil(L&Lof)than Singing Detective.

the singing detective was one of the finest television programmes ever.
she devil is an ordinary production with a silly plot and one dimensional characters.

listen dear, they are playing our tune.

EXACTLY!

The BAFTA or best drama series of 1986 should have gone to John Mortimer's Paradise Postponed.

The She Devil series was a horrible programme that didn't even deserve to be nominated.

It was shocking that The Singing Detective did not win. Then again there have been rumours in the past that BAFTA voting is not all that it should be.

Its that man again!!

Wading into the fray...I remember The Life and Loves of a She-Devil to this day. The Singing Detective I cannot remember a thing about.

So BAFTA were thinking, The Life and Loves of a She-Devil is a winner.

It was 30 years ago, get over it...
