What happened to Jonathon the hamster- guinea pig
I always remember seeing him rescued but after re-watching it I did not see him rescued = aghhhh!! Tell me he is safe!

The woman just abandoned the hamster. In her own way she was just as selfish as her husband. I disliked both of them.
shareIn the book, she forgets about the guinea pig because it had never shown her any affection. The dog and cat, on the other hand, had...at least to a degree.
It makes dramatic sense to leave the ungrateful pet behind.
"Ruth ignored nips and scratches and removed both animals from the house. She forgot the guinea pig. He had earned forgetfulness." (Chapter 12.)
