Stephen Fry imitates Japp from "Poirot"

It always struck me that JEEVES AND WOOSTER had marked similarities to POIROT; both aired around the same time in the early '90's and both had impeccable 1930s settings. Now, in the episode "Right Ho, Jeeves" (or "Bertie Takes Gussie's Place at Deverill Hall"), when Jeeves dons a trench coat and mustache and pretends to be a Scotland Yard detective arresting Bertie for using an illegal golf club, Stephen Fry is doing an unmistakable imitation of Philip Jackson's Chief Inspector Japp from POIROT! In fact, there's even a little bit of the POIROT the theme music playing in the underscoring.

I hadn't thought of that but yes, now that you mention it!
