'We are a proud, fierce nation of bunnies'?

I've seen this remarkable series a long time ago. I have a vague memory of a phrase i heard on this series. I'd like to know the exact wording, as well as its origin (i believe it was supposed to have come from some children's book). The phrase was uttered by PM Urquhard to his mistress in his bedroom. It was meant to be a parody of a sentence he himself had said on a television interview earlier that evening. It went something like this: "We are a proud, fierce nation of bunnies".

The quote is from To Play The King:

"We are by God a nation of fierce bad rabbits"

Thanks, quaddo. With the correct quote at hand, i've been able to trace its origin. It derives from the title of Beatrix Potter's children's book, "The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit" (1906). If my memory serves me right, Urquhart mentions Ms. Potter when he tries to explain the meaning of the phrase to his mistress.

yep. you're right on all fronts. I just re-watched the entire trilogy on netflix...after watching the US version (which is brilliant, btw). That scene stuck in my mind and you're spot on..he did mention the potter reference toi his mistress who at the time had just discovered the truth about mattie.
