90s Flash actually looked like The Flash

The only problem with the new flash is he looks like a child lol to me anyways. I thought John Wesley Shipp's flash actually had the appearance, costume and physique of the flash superhero. Be it the muscle suit, it still worked. I like the new version, it's just a real shame the 90s version was handled so terribly, could've been something amazing

Agreed.

I couldn't have said it better.

While I do like Shipp's characterization of Barry Allen / The Flash, I thought the suit just looked like a cheap Halloween costume with exaggerated padded muscles.

To each their own.

Some where down the line. DC Decided that the Flash was DC Spider-man.

While I do very much like the new Flash series, I never saw the 1990's version with Mr. Shipp in the title role. But just from the pictures I've seen here on iMDB, I agree that he does look more the part. Yeah - Grant Gustin should put on a few pounds of muscle, I think; he does look more like Peter Parker than how I'd picture Barry Allen. ;-)

While i love love love 90s Flash i actually disagree on his build. Flash is a runner not a weightlifter. He should be lean and wiry not bulky. The bulk suit was done because of Batman and i understand it and didnt have any issue with it at the time but the Flash should not be built like say Ben Afflecks Batman. He should be skinnier. Yeah Grant Gustin could probably gain about 15 lbs but he isnt far off from a correct body type.

Sorry Brother.

I tend to disagree. Well first off if your running close to the speed of light. That a hell a lot of exercise. And he probably going to be bulked up from that alone. But also even so in the sliverage. Barry Allen was exactly skinny.

Agreed. The actors on a lot of the current superhero shows seem too young (or immature) for the part. Although, sometimes it's the intention.

The worst thing this show did was cast this guy: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3107288/mediaviewer/rm3464695552 Every time I saw him I couldn't help thinking "why isn't he the Flash?" He looks just like the Barry I grew up with in the comics. Next to him Grant always came up lacking in my eyes.

It was made with great skill and care into a movie you don't like.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Grant Gustin Flash, or the current one for the DCEU. My problem is that they are trying to make him like Wally West, when Barry Allen was more so the level headed one. I'm not saying Barry didn't make a few rash decisions, but age wise John Wesley Shipp was around the right age to portray him. I'd much rather have his interpretation of the Flash team up with Oliver, than Grant Gustin.
