Frieda Evans is the same character as Suzanne Sugarbaker
Anybody notice that?

I may be mistaking the intention of the original thread title as well as the first response to same. It would seem JackGriffin might be suggesting the role of Frieda is similar to the role of Suzanne Sugarbaker in Designing Women. Then StephEliza seems to agree and states their voices sound alike.
As to the similarity of voices, I think StephEliza is probably thinking of the Julia Sugarbaker character, played by Dixie Carter, rather than the Suzanne Sugarbaker character played by Delta Burke. Elizabeth Ashley played the Frieda Evans character and certainly does have that deep, husky (and to me sexy) voice I would also use to describe Dixie Carter. I would also throw in Suzanne Pleshette's voice along with Ashley and Carter. I think they all had sexy voices and enjoyed watching and listening to them perform.
In response to JackGriffin's original title question, I do not see the Frieda character similarity to either of the Sugarbaker sisters. I think the closest similarity I see would be the flighty natures of Frieda and Suzanne.
In any case, I certainly did enjoy these great comedy shows and find nothing today to replace them.
