What network originally ran Evening Shade?

This show ran in the early 1990s and in those days, I was working nights and going to grad school by day. I didn't watch much prime time TV back then and I don't remember this show. Strangely, I don't recall anyone talking about this show in the 1990s although it seems like a real gem.

I'm curious to know which network ran Evening Shade originally. I'm now watching episodes on independent TV.

It orignally aired on CBS.

It started on Friday at 8 pm in September 1990 but just 2 months into its 1st season it was moved to 8 pm on Monday and stayed in the Monday at 8 PM time slot for the rest of its 4 year run during the regular season.

CBS did air summer reruns on Monday at 9:30 pm in June of 1991 and then on Friday at 8 pm from August to September of 1991 in the summer after season 1.

In November 1990, two months into its 1st season, CBS switched the the show's time slot with that of the underperforming new show Uncle Buck which had premiered Mondays at 8 pm. Uncle Buck finished out its only season in the Friday at 8 pm timeslot and was cancelled in spring of 1991.

If you were in your 20s at the time, it's unlikely you would have heard anyone talking about it. CBS was the "old person's network" back then. A show about people in their 50s, 60s, and 70s probably wasn't too appealing to your age group. It came on at the same time as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It did well in the ratings and was considered Burt Reynolds's big comeback. But it wasn't exactly a "water cooler" show like Seinfeld.

I was 23 in 1990 when Evening Shade premiered and I watched it during its original run.

I was already a Burt Reynolds fan from his 70s and 80s movies and of Marilu Henner from Taxi.

Most of the cast may have been older than me, but the characters they played were hilarious.

This show had a great cast.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

I was 12 and I watched it occasionally. Obviously, I mean generally.

I watched this in first run, was 11 to 14 when it aired. Mainly because that's what my folks watched, they were in their 30s then. I watched Fresh Prince in syndication. I didn't have my own tv until about the end of Fresh Prince's run.
I remember watching all of CBSs shows and, yeah, they were old people shows.
