How did Jake + Ann end?

Loved the show & have started reviewing my 15+ year old tapes but we in the states only got to see the 1st 2 seasons. I understand Ann ended up being involved with hottie Mike, but how did the affair die between her and even hotter Jake??

*chuckles* all for the hotty factor for both of them. If I recall, it was all very messy. I can't tell you the timing of it all because I only ever watched the series once it was showing on CBC and they kind of ran it all together one summer.

If I recall. Ann began seeming reluctant to make a deeper commitment to Jake. They went househunting and never got one, things like that. Then he asked her to marry him and she couldn't really answer. They had a tense sort of episode with some soul searching on both sides. Then, at the company picnic/baseball tournament, Jake goes to comfort Terry (Morgan) and somehow they get caught in the woods...um..up against a tree...together - by pretty much EVERYONE.

...And that basically ended it although the suggestion afterwards was that it just made it easier for Ann who probably wouldn't have said yes anyway.

It paved the way for Victor Garber's Adam Hirsch to come through and be deliciously evil...and eventually led to Mike, who'd been carrying a torch for her since he walked through the door at channel 10 in the pilot episode.

Hmmm...I wonder what important facts all this knowledge has pushed out of my brain

Wow! Thanks for the update. I guess we missed some juicy stuff over here and I would have loved to have seen Victor Garber. It amazes me that 15+ years later I can sit down and watch these tapes (albeit just the first 2 seasons) and they don't seem that old. But maybe it's because I AM (old)....

I think they hold up fairly well to the test of time...although I suppose it's kind of sad that the issues of the day that are brought up and discussed are still issues now a decade and a half later.

And definitely see if you can track down Victor Garber's episodes. He came through twice and was so much fun to hate :).
