The character of Eddie being recast.... what up??

Anyone know why the part of Eddie was recast after the first season???

reply

Because the 1st actor didn't want to do it anymore? I don't really know, just guessin'.

"Egg! He said egg!"

reply

the 1st actor was bad.

reply

He wasn't bad -- he just wasn't Dorien Wilson.

I have to agree. I am only up to episode four of the first season and the guy playing Eddie is terrible. He's just awkward, unnatural and he tries too hard.

reply

I thought the first guy that played Eddie was fine but for me Dorien Wilson will always be Eddie. I remember that to explain the change in actor they had Eddie have plastic surgery which explained why he looked different although they could never explain why his voice was different lol

reply

Jeff Josephs played fine after editing, but in truth his performances weren't very good and the producers chose to replace him second season.

reply

"After editing"? Were you involved with the production?

Would have been funny/made some semblance of sense if they could have used the original actor for the flashback episodes.

In a way this did actually happen:

In season 2 episode 1 (The Second Greatest Story Ever Told)
when Martin gets back from lunch the office is filled with people scurrying around.
He bumps into a black man and they give each other a "don't I know you" look and then move on.
The man Brian Benben bumps into is Jeffrey Joseph; the first "Eddie Charles".
