Happy Birthday Alexander Lucard

On this date in 1431, Wladislaus Dragwlya (Vladislaus Dracula) later to be known as Vlad Tepes / Impaler) was born.

So wish the prince of darkness a Happy 579th Birthday today! Dracula "died" at the age of forty five in 1476. To this day no one knows where his body is. Remains thought to his disappeared over a century ago. And to celebrate Dracula's Birthday I am eating very garlicy pizza. :-P

On this show, does his using the name Alexander ever lead to references to Alexander The Great?

Yes, it does. I think it happens in the pilot.

Cool, as a History buff I'm a total Alexander Nerd.

I'm pretty sure that's why he chose the name Alexander Lucard = A. Lucard = Dracula backward. Dracula in the series is this corporate mogul. He runs a major corporation called Lucard Industries, much like David Xanatos in Disney's Gargoyles. He has evil schemes that are all subtle attempts to gain more power and control with his main ambition being a subtle form of world domination.

"Alexander the Great wept when there were no more worlds to conquer."

Yep, like Lex Luthor.

I enjoy that quote about Alexander, though it's not accurate, he knew full well there was mroe to Conquer and was planning on it.
