The worst team?

There's this one episode that I remember where the team ended up with 20 seconds in the dome. They had about 3 lockins and didn't buy out any of them so only half the team made it to the end. Richard was desperately trying not to burst out laughing after the last lockin which happened in the boat and mines game in the Ocean zone (the last zone in this episode).

For me it would have to be the team in a later series, who had about 4 lock-ins and bought them all out.
They finished up with one crystal - 5 seconds - in the Dome.
They insisted that "we started as a team; we will finish as a team".
An incredulous Richard said "I won't bother wishing you luck. There's no point..."

I think they ended up with -9, by the way.

Don't you just love it when Richard gets sarky and annoyed? The contestants think he is joking, when he is actually deadly serious.
The Mary Whitehouse Experience got it right, with Punt and Dennis.
Hugh Dennis had to "make a cup of tea". After 10 seconds of running around drinking out of the teapot, he panicked and banged on the door.

Quote: "I cannot see what I have to DOOOOOOOOO! I'm coming out!!"

Steve Punt turns to the camera and says, sadly; "I wrote a sell-out West End musical you know..."

No No NO! Don't be silly; how can you find someone "Not Esther Williams"? (Graham Chapman)

Actually, I think I do remember that one. The last game they played was the automatic lock-in with the movement sensitive box if I remember correctly.

God that episode was funny!

(Before they go in to the dome)
Richard: "Well, team, how did you do?"
(whole team explodes laughing)

'Nuff said.

That team actually did really well in their first two zones, but they had a lock in at the end of their second zone (Ocean) and it all fell apart from there. Dave Murphy (the contestant who got locked in the final game (with the movement sensitive box) later said on the Andy's CM website that the team knew they weren't going to win so they decided to just buy all the lock-ins out and get the dome scenes over with as soon as possible

There was an episode where a woman was the team captain. She went in a game where you had a metal detector.

She was very thick, first off everyone said do not go near the edges and guess what she did? Then when she found a box, she had the metal detector near that box and kept on digging around it as if all the boxes are placed next to each other..

Dont you just feel like getting hold of contestants and shaking some sense into them when they act stupid!

I'd say the worst ever contestant was the guy who couldn't see the crystal in front of him in that mirror crawl maze in Season 1 and came out without it. He got 3 games including that one and did not win any of them!

I think this was sadly why the show ended so early and maybe some of the fans didn't like the second presenter/presenter change. I was only 6 when it finished so I didn't have any opinion on presenter change. But always watched repeats.
