Is this show good?

Did you find it entertaining?

reply

This show and Holmes' portrayal is the most accurate to the source material of any that have been made. By a wide margin too.

reply

A Michael Moorcock fan I see. :)

reply

Michael Moorcock? I'm of the Navajo tribe and my name was given to me because of my tendency to suffer from fits of depression for an entire month at a time...

Just kidding, of course. Moorcock is such an excellent writer.

reply

haha!

I've read all the books in the Eternal Champion series.

Do you think SyFy or someone will ever make an Elric mini-series?

reply

I've heard from time to time over the years about planned Elric movies or series, but nothing concrete ever came of them so far.

The closest thing to this I've come across was the concept album The Chronicle of the Black Sword by Hawkwind. Excellent studio and follow up live album.

I'm not sure if what makes these books so great is even translatable to the screen. The interweaving of the multiple realities and incarnations of the Eternal Champion might just confuse a lot of people.

reply

Yes, yes, could be right, though there have been plenty of other confusing series in the past. :) I would really like to see how a talented writer/director team would tackle the problem.

Maybe one problem is that often Elric is not all that likable though, which could be okay when you're reading a novel, but may not work on screen. Or maybe the decisionmakers are all just bean counters and don't get it.

reply

Not good, excellent.
