Of all the eco-villains, Verminous Skumm was THE worst. The others were either misguided, greedy, or, in the case of Dr. Blight, batsh!t crazy. But this episode and the drug episode proved Skumm to just be downright evil.

The series did try to address some global problems aside from environmental pollution/destruction.
Their was an episode where a high school basketball player faces prejudice when people find out that he has HIV.
Their was an episode about urban gang violence, and one about the ethnic-religious conflict in Israel and Ireland.
