Oliver and Sam

The Brady's character line-up would have been complete with Oliver(Robbie Rist) and Sam(Allen Melvin). It would have been more complete with the real Marcia(Maureen McCormick).

The problem is that Oliver was only staying with the Bradys a little while when he was on the show. His parents were out of the country and that is why the Bradys took him in. It's not as if they adopted him or anything like that. So it wouldn't really make any sense to bring him back in The Bradys.

Maureen had just had a baby when they did the Bradys. I think her choosing to be a mom was more important than for her to be on the show. Although I do agree it would have been nice to see Maureen in the role of Marcia.

Sam, well, he was just a minor character in the show and not really necessary to any plots. After all he never did appear in any of the incarnations except disguised as Santa in A Very Brady Christmas. He was not important to the show.

That's where your wrong. Sam was talked about quite a bit, but never seen. It would've been nice to see him, rather than hear him be talked about. He was disguised as Santa in "A Very Brady Christmas", because that was Lewis Arquette, not Allen Melvin. So it would've been nice to have Oliver and Sam. And it would make sense for Oliver to be here because he did live with the Brady family until his folks came back from South America. It would've been nice to feature his parents as new characters, since they were only talked about one time. So, all in all, you're wrong altogether.

Yes, I agree, Sam was talked about but never seen. That is why I said he was not an important character. At least not important enough to bring back.

Yes, I know it was not the same actor in A Very Brady Christmas. That was quite evident the first time I watched it in 1988. Again in this movie they downplayed his importance enough that we didn't even see his face.

As for Oliver, the plan in 1974 was that he was only going to live with the Bradys six months. That has nothing to do with the grown up family 16 years later in 1990.

All in all you think I'm wrong and I think you're wrong.

I am sure Oliver would've cared enough to come back, after all he DID LIVE with Mike & Carol for quite some time. Same goes for Sam, after all he did marry Alice. We would assume that the Brady family were a part of Alice & Sam's wedding, even part of the wedding party, with Carol as Alice's maid of honor and Mike as Sam's best man. After all Alice and Carol spent alot of time together and Sam talked to Mike and asked him for favors once in a while. It would make sense to think that about Alice & Sam's wedding, don't ya think? I think so. As for the reception, it took place at the bowling alley, where Sam bowled a 226, according to Alice in "The Brady Girls Get Married."

Sam was only in eight episodes and Oliver only six. It would have been nice to see Sam. But Oliver really was a jinx. He got the original series canceled.
