Was anyone excited when you saw the new opening theme for the first episode of the second season?

That adrenaline-pumping guitar riff theme song opening of the camera rapidly shifting to each cast member as they look in the camera and smile at their fans, was such a far cry from the first season's opening (generic instrumental and stock footage from different episodes). Season 2 gave off such a rockstar-ish vibe, especially with the puffy smoke around the cast members. Even as a youngin' watching 90210, there's no denying that season's opening made even the "old people" (James Eckhouse and Carol Potter who were credited last) look hip and cool. LOL And of course, the white backdrop where Jason Priestley air-punches Luke Perry in sync to the theme song's guitar riff, followed by the cast members getting into frame for a photo-op as Ian Ziering picks up Tori Spelling in an "Officer and a Gentleman" fashion -- phenomenal! And from an audio standpoint, I think it's safe to say that "90210" is hands-down the best wordless theme song. "Home Improvement," second place, IMO.

It's one of my favourite themes of all time.

I didn´t even remember the season 1 theme until I heard it years later. It sounds really 80´s and lame. I wouldn´t be surprised if the theme change boosted the show´s popularity at the time.

I like that version, but the season 2 version is better.

Most people do not remember the season 1 theme. The season 2 theme is what sticks out when people think of Beverly Hills 90210. That and cast additions--adding Luke Perry as Brenda's boyfriend helped the show BIG TIME

The pilot sounds like something in an after school special.
