LuAnn Pruit

Some mother. Some friend. I realize she saw in Donna a meal ticket for her son -- perhaps for herself too -- but she also seemed to genuinely like and care about her. You'd think she'd at least try to discourage her son from straying.

reply

I think she did in some ways. She always had an eyebrow raised when Val came by, and a scolding look for her son when he was with her.

reply

[deleted]

yeah, she thought Val was a Piranha/barracuda....a real fast-mover and meat-eater.

reply

She also sure turned against Donna fast when Ray took Joe to court even though she had to know that Ray was pre-disposed to being abusive due to his Father being that way with Luanne while he was growing up. Then again, Ray is pretty much all she has so she is going to back him up no matter what.

In regards to the straying, I don't think she was happy about it but recognized that it was very difficult for Ray to not be getting anything from his girlfriend no matter how much he loves her (he IS 25 for god's sake) lol and at least advised him that if he HAD to go there to "be discreet".

And don't forget her very wise, motherly advice: "It's just as easy to love a rich girl as it is a poor one". πŸ’΅

Speaking of Ray not getting any I kind of felt bad for Donna again another man is cheating on her because he can't seem to getting any from Donna. It was funny seeing Donna and Ray in the bed I thought she was actually sleeping with him but they were just kissing I mean David didn't even get to be in the bed with her like that. As a female, I can't really blame Ray and David yes men with be men but I think after about 6 months to a year would be a good time to have sex.

I didn't really care for Luann either I wish she would have told Donna what was going on she was always preaching to Ray "you be good to this one", but like the one post said I think she was just greedy and saw money with Donna.

I agree with you blaque108. Donna sure pushed the boundaries by always getting her men extremely worked up and ALMOST to the brink before putting the brakes on (She did it to David in New Orleans if you recall). You do that enough without at least giving them a happy ending and realistically any guy, no matter how devoted, in their age range is eventually going to stray after a certain amount of time. Tough deal for all involved for sure.

In the movie "Clueless" two of the main characters were dedicated virgins but when asked about dealing with their boyfriends Dionne says something to the effect of "my man is satisfied" suggesting she plays the "everything but" game which would help more than the way teaser Donna plays it.

I'm trying to stick with the college years, I looked ahead on my TV guide to see what next week episodes will be about and the New Orleans episodes is coming up. Donna knew David since high school so her sleeping with David in New Orleans would have been fine since they were cool with each other. Once again that is a long time to wait to sleep with someone finally (after college). It was funny seeing Andrea get her some and then some on the side from Peter.

I know the movie Clueless and you right Dionne was a virgin but I agree she wasn't constantly saying "I'm a virgin" I guess that can get annoying for a guy.

reply

Hope I didn't do a spoiler for you with the New Orleans episode. Yes Andrea got her groove on a bit, but that tends to happen sometimes after waiting, depending on the situation. Of course, you would hope you would not be married when this takes place. Another case of Andrea being up on her soap box against everybody else but not for herself other than when Dylan first confronted her.

The New Orleans is when David find his mother right? The last time I watched those episodes was in the 90s when it the show was on, when the show was on FXX as a re-run in the early 00s I skipped lost interest in the later college years also. I remember Donna wanting to help David out because he saved her from the rapist and Ray got mad.

I love the look on her face when Dylan called her out on her hotel visits, that shut her trap for a minute.

No, that was Portland. The New Orleans episode is in Season 7.

She did this to David for YEARS .... lets make out and get all worked up and then STOP because I'm a virgin and staying that way forever! I mean, I guess it's on David here too. He knew she wasn't up for the task, so he probably should have split a while ago. I'm sure I wasn't alone when I was on David's side when he nailed Arial in the back of that limo. Of course he should have broken up with Donna first. He was douche'y for that dick move. But man, the guy needed to get laid ..... finally! His balls were going to explode soon from the constant teasing Donna gave him.

I always wondered though .... could Donna do 'other stuff' maybe? DID SHE do 'other stuff'? I mean, she could have been helping poor David out in some other ways, if you know what I mean. But, had she been satisfying him in other ways, he probably wouldn't have cheated on her then in the end.

imo, if you actually have a rigid non-negotiable policy in place of no 'happy endings' , in any form, then , you can't even have a fidelity policy simultaneously in place..it's ludicrous. Of course, I guess, it is incumbent on the mostly male partner, to negotiate that on that basis.

all of these guys should have had that actually contracted with crazy Donna.

"I'm sorry, Donna, until/unless we are married, engaged or biblical, if it happens, it happens, all I can tell you is that if so, it will just be sex..any updates I will inform you, but we both need to sign off on that, sign here..if not, all we have is some crazy batshyt which is just not what anybody else really does....I can't work with it ."

The actress who played LeAnn was masterful! She had it down to a science. Like hanging a cigarette out of her mouth and running the vacuum.. In all seriousness I liked the character. I would have loved to see her and Felice square off. LeAnn would have shredded that snooty witch.

reply

a felice & luann duel would be awesome!

Loved her. Love how the actress portrayed the character. Wish both she and Ray stayed longer on the show.

reply

she was good in the role...her smoking problem made me wince a little, though.

she should have gotten on Mad Men...John Sears made it on there eventually.
