Still airing after all these years?

I guess the explosion of 'reality' TV has kept this show alive. And it is very cheap to produce, one assumes. It's been on as long as The Simpsons.

I know! I lost interest around 1991 or so, when the videos appeared to be too "fake" IMHO, so to speak. I always assumed that the show eventually went off the air. Boy was I surprised about 10 years ago when I found out from a friend that it was still on the air! I even saw a part of a new episode a few months ago.

In the late eighties, this show was a treat. Video cameras were expensive and rare back then, so it was a treat to see other people's home videos. Now, what's the big deal? There are millions of videos posted on youtube.

I guess the show's producers must be doing something right if people are still interested in the show!

Yes, I definitely see the program as a precursor to YouTube. I watched a few episodes back in its early days, but that was so long ago. I think Bob Saget may have been the host back then. I suppose the show is very cheap to produce, and I'm guessing that they don't accept any clips already posted on YouTube. It could very well go on forever!
