was it good?

I know that many critics have slated this film time and time again. I know at times the film can be a bit ridiculous but is this a great film because it is so crap?

It played in a theater somewhere for about a week and then went directly to VHS - what does that tell you?

I watched the movie when I was five, in 1990, and I was in love with that movie (I loved witches movies), even without knowing it was the great Bette Davis in there. It's been at least 15 years I didn't see it and I'm really curious to watch it again, as an adult...

I remember watching it on ITV as a teenager, and finding it very funny. Of course I had no idea of the production difficulties back then. A lot of people say Bette Davis looks very frail and ill in this but I think its in the Agatha Christie film Murder With Mirrors that she looks very poorly.
I know a lot of her fans bemoan the fact that Davis ended up in supposed 'rubbish' like this, but she had made several trips into the horror genre prior to this. 'The Anniversary','Burnt Offerings' and 'Scream Pretty Peggy'anybody?
I think a lot of great actors/actresses ended their careers in the horror/exploitation field, and I for one am glad that they did. For example, Dennis Price finished his career appearing in a few Hammer films, other Brit Horror and some terrible Jess Franco efforts.

I remember the ending was pretty wild.
