The Score

I really love the score to this movie by Colin Towns. It perfectly captures the mood of the film with more than a little ode to horror film scores of the past. The music was never released which is a real shame!

Anyone else have any thoughts about the music in this great, underrated movie?

I found myself watching the movie early this morning and because Nicholas Cage and Jennifer Beals were in it, I tuned in. I always like vampire flicks. Turns out, he was just insane. Anyway, as for the score. I didn't watch the movie closely as I was doing other stuff around the house, but the musical score was very good I thought. It caught my attention whenever I heard it listening from the other room. Almost mesmerizing. It kind of kept you in a trance somewhat, which fit the movie perfectly because he thought he was in a trance, or becoming a vampire. So, whenever I heard the music, I'd tune back into the movie. I particularly liked the ending when he was killed and it cut to Beals' character saying "Dream of me angel. Dream of me" with the music playing. I'm not going to call it a great movie, but I'd like to see it again and watch it all the way through. It had its moments.
