No substance.

I just checked this out thinking it'd be fun. What a crapfest. I get that Cage's character is supposed to be losing his mind or whatever, but the awful overacting never allowed me out of the "oh there is Nicolas Cage acting nutty for nutty's sake" mode.

SLOWWWW. Painfully so.

Why? Why was this made? As a vehicle to show off Cage's "range"? At least this was before he butchered his face out of any nuance of expression.

And, YAWN, there is female-only nudity, and plenty o' verbal and physical abuse/violence against women. Enough already. I've read up a bit and understand that many see this film as a "comedic masterpiece". Rape and murder? Pretty sick.

This film was a series of cheap elements used to try and appear deep.
